Guitar Building Blog

Chapter 1: Introduction

Welcome to this series in which I catalog my experiences in designing and building guitars.

My goal for this blog is to provide both myself and readers a comprehensive account of everything it takes to actually build a guitar from scratch. My hope is that I can use my experience on this project to help others who may also want to delve into this world.

I’ve spent the last year and a half doing all I can to study up on the techniques necessary to to complete this project. While this is not a substitute for actual work, I believe that taking time to familiarize yourself with the process in an academic way is crucial for building a sound strategy for execution.

Much of this information has been scattered over the web and in books. From YouTube to Reddit, to a small collection of books in my own personal library, I have been able to study and follow along with incredible craftsmen to learn what it takes.

However, as stated, much of this content is scattered. I am hoping that by creating this blog I can take all of this information and put it in one place. I believe that it will make it easier for individuals to follow along with the ins and outs of the full process, as well as providing me a written reference for my build.

I am glad that you are sharing this journey with me and I hope this inspires you in your own journey as well. Feel free to reach out with any questions.
